a physical house + a community for students pursuing their passions with intensity: startups, research, video games, content creation, side projects. we believe environment is everything. we surround you with other ambitious people and accelerate you toward your goals through events like mixers, weekly work sessions, and conversations with founders and investors.

no. we're expanding the hackerhouse experience so it's not required to live at the house. now, you can be a member without living here.

we are currently accepting applications for fall 2026. we admit on a rolling basis.
no. we prioritize GT students for residency, but membership is open to students from any school.
membership fee is $49/semester. if you live at the house, you pay rent like anywhere else. we care very deeply about making hackerhouse accessible and are willing to work with any accepted members for whom this is a big financial concern.
you spend most of your time working and learning alongside other members. being around people who take their work seriously teaches you more than any program could. that said, we build things around that core — mixers where you meet founders, dinners with VCs, the YC career fair — all designed to put you in front of people who can open doors for what you're building. we also run work sessions and demo nights to keep the rhythm going. but if you ask our members what they remember most, it usually isn't any of that. it's the impromptu stuff — the events they organized themselves, the 1am debates, the friends they made along the way. you will walk away with a deep respect for what it takes to pursue something real, and a community that stays with you long after.
apart from demo nights which are a couple hours every week, there is no formal time commitment. all the events are optional. we're not trying to take up your time. we're supporting you to spend it on what you actually care about.
